Brief Profile: Hello, I am Divya Parasher, a psychological counsellor based in Nainital. Trained in Counselling Psychology at Fergusson College, Pune, I offer short interventions for any kind of mental and emotional distress. I also work extensively with individuals seeking personal growth and development. Prior to my counselling practice, I worked for over 10 years at the Indian Psychology Institute (www.ipi.org.in) in Pondicherry. My broad areas of interests include the understanding of the human personality from the Indian perspective; the workings of the Guru-Disciple relationship in the Indian context of spirituality; intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships and the role of faith in human life.
I have developed my expertise in psychology against a rich educational background encompassing multiple degrees in arts, languages, and psychology from higher educational institutions such as the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education (Pondicherry) and the English and Foreign Languages University (Hyderabad).
I am deeply passionate about my work as a counsellor. My particular approach is based on my firm belief that learning to build an honest and healthy relationship with oneself is a prerequisite for developing positive relationships, and leading a more meaningful life. I therefore work with my clients by encouraging them to develop a greater self-awareness and self-acceptance that lead not only to healing, but also to a more fulfilling and conscious life.
