Description of the Test
The Infinity Graduate and Managerial Ability Test Series comprises two separate tests, the Numerical reasoning Test (NRT) and the Verbal Reasoning Test (VRT). They are designed for use as online, unsupervised tests for initial sifting of applicants applying for graduate and management roles. Each is around 20 minutes long and consists of 20-24 multiple choice items. NRT aims to assess skill in evaluating information presented in statistical tables and charts to answer questions assessing numerical reasoning. The tables are designed to represent the type of information encountered in a business environment. VRT aims to measure skills in reasoning with verbal information. This includes evaluating reports and business documentation and demonstrating the ability to understand complex discussions and oral interactions. Both tests have multiple forms which are randomly assigned to candidates. The VRT comes in three forms which are further differentiated by randomisation of order of items relating to a particular passage while each NRT administration is created by controlled random selection of items from an item bank and scored using an item response theory based approach. The tests are supported by internet based candidate management procedures and computer generated reports for administrators and candidate feedback.
