Description of the Test

The General Reasoning Test (GRT) is a 10 minute online 'entry-level' ability test that measures both Verbal and Numerical Reasoning ability, as well as an overall measure of General Reasoning Ability. The test consists of 65 questions; 32 verbal questions and 33 numerical questions, with all items equally weighted. The test is administered either unsupervised or supervised via a web-based platform. There are 3 equivalent forms of the test (A,B and C), with multiple language versions available. The GRT is designed to be used as a screening tool for recruitment purposes at a non-senior level. A single report is available and automatically generated following the assessment, providing an indication of an individual's numerical, verbal and general reasoning ability. An individual's results are compared to a single international norm group of over 11,000 working adults, with percentiles and performance descriptions provided in the report. The GRT is designed for use by Test User Ability qualified individuals, however the publishers provide support for individuals administering the test without this status. The GRT is supported by a technical manual and an administration guide. The technical manual includes the background theory to the test, a description of the test, a section on fairness and bias and descriptive data. In addition sections on the test's reliability and validity are also provided. The administration guide includes a pre-assessment checklist and a troubleshooting guide for administrators.
