Description of the Test

B2C Business Challenges is an ability battery intended for use with occupations requiring moderate levels of ability e.g. clerical, administrative, sales, supervisory). Typical candidates will have not more than secondary education. The battery consists of 5 tests (verbal, numerical, checking, classification and proof reading) which can be used independently or in combination. They are presented in separate reusable booklets with answer sheets and overlay keys and each take between 5 and 20 minutes to complete. Alternatively a web-based administration is available.

All five tests are based around a common scenario intended to engage candidates and that is a fictitious high street music store. The verbal task is to evaluate statements relating to a request for a bank loan.  The numerical test contains word problems relating to working in the store e.g. working out a discounted price for an item.  The checking test requires comparisons of stocklists in two different forms.  In the classification task candidates classify stock items according to given rules.  The proof reading test asks candidate to mark errors in  two pages of marketing copy.  The tests have time limits ranging from 5 to 20 minutes.

Practice materials are provided for each test and computer generated reporting is available via the web or a bureau service. The test is the current version of the Business Administration Series (BAS). B2C comes with a technical manual, including a range of norm-tables and general psychometric data. There is also an administration booklet. The test booklets are attractively laid out and are re-usable.
