Description of the Test:

The PPM is a set of nine sub-tests designed to be used as a differential aptitude battery. he distinction between ‘Power’ and ‘Performance’ is similar to that between ‘fluid’ and ‘crystallised’ ability – and does not refer to the more obvious comparison with ‘power’ and ‘speed’ tests. The PPM ‘Power’ tests are four reasoning tests (Applied Power; Verbal, Numerical and Perceptual Reasoning), while the ‘Performance’ tests comprise Verbal Comprehension; Numerical Comprehension; Spatial Ability; Mechanical Understanding; and Processing Speed. The sub-tests are intended for use singly, in various combinations, or all together, depending on the reason for testing.
