Description of the Test

The Jung Type Indicator (JTI) as its name suggests had been developed to measure Jung's personality typology. The JTI measures the same qualities and identifies the same types as the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). However the JTI considers its scales as measuring traits on a continuum as well as being useful in identifying people's type as discrete categories. The items reflect this being statements to which the respondent rates agreement rather than the choices between words or phrases identifying opposite pole of each type dimension. From a 60 item self scoring questionnaire, respondents obtain a score on each of four dimensions - Extraversion-Introversion, Thinking-Feeling, Sensing-Intuiting, Judging- Perceiving. Results can be interpreted in two ways. Firstly on the basis of the strength of preference for each of these four dimensions or as one of 16 integrated types based on all four preferences together. A computer generated report is available as well a booklet describing each of the 16 types in some detail.
