Description of the Test:

The Team Effectiveness Questionnaire (te) is a short, 74 item questionnaire that measures 7 dimensions of emotional intelligence at the team level of analysis. The assumption made is that the emotional intelligence of the team will not simply be an aggregate of the emotional intelligence of the team members but rather that the ethos of the team itself will influence how individuals behave within it. It is this team ethos that the te is designed to measure by asking team members to identify problems within the seven areas covered by the scales. It takes up to 20 minutes to complete. Individuals within a team are required to respond on a 3-point scale (0 = no problem, 1 = problem, 2 = significant problem) either on-line or via paper and pencil. Its intended use is within the occupational context especially for HR consultants, trainers etc., to help with teambuilding, team development, team leadership and organisational climate. Scores are given at three levels and range from the average team responses on the scales to the percentage of responses for each scale point within each dimension. Three reports are generated to provide the test user with an overall view of how the team perceives itself, how individuals perceive the team in comparison to the overall team view and finally there is also the option to use the questionnaire to assess how ‘outside’ individuals or groups perceive the team. The average responses to each question are also given within the reports.
