Description of the Test:
The OAD Organisation Survey is a self-report word-list inventory constructed in a free choice format providing scores converted to centile ranges. The respondent chooses which of 110 words describes him/herself. The words used are of easy to moderate difficulty. The survey measures seven work related personality trait clusters and the same items and scales can be used to measure the individuals perception of required job behaviours. The trait measurements identify the personality makeup of the individual. Job behaviours are a measurement of the individuals perception of how to modify or accentuate job behaviours in response to overall job demands the tasks, management expectations, peer pressure and organisational culture. These job behaviour measurements are very useful in analysing and understanding the reality of various jobs throughout the organisation. They can be used to educate management and develop appropriate prescriptive action. The questionnaire gives information on six primary scales, and one derived scale. A Assertiveness Self confident and assertive vs. accommodating and un-confident E Extraversion Classic extraversion vs. introversion P Patience Patient and easy-going vs. impatient and variety seeking D Detail Orientation Sense of Duty/ need for rules and structure vs. casual and flexible VL Versatility Behaviourally adaptable vs. inflexibility in different situations / environments. EC Emotional Control Emotionally controlled vs. emotionally expansive CR Creativity Creative, inventive and experimenting vs. less so The Versatility scale is a derived score being the sum of the Assertiveness, Extraversion, Patience and Detail Orientation scores. Much of the interpretation is based on the relative pattern of these four scores with the other scores used to add additional dimensions to the basic personality structure.
