Assessment & Development Centre Certifications

IIBP offers 3 levels of certification for Assessment & Development Centres. Details of each level can be found below.

Level 1

Level-1 certification aims at creating qualified and competent Assessment / Development Center assessor/observer and role players (Please visit this page for a brief introduction to the assessment & development centres, and different roles therein).

After completing this course, the participant is supposed to demonstrate the following:

  1. Understanding of entire process of Assessment / Development center. Different steps and roles.
  2. Basic understanding and familiarity with different tools and techniques used in the assessment/development centres along with their strengths and limitations.
  3. Awareness about strengths, weaknesses and suitable use of assessment / development center to meet a specific HR objective.
  4. Skills and competence on ORCE process for assessment centres  and  ORCF process for development centres.
  5. Awareness about the ethical and professional standards in using assessment / development center as part of HR functions.
  6. Skills and competence in role playing and staying close to the script while being flexible enough to accommodate unforeseen situations.

Level 2

Level-2 certification aims at creating qualified and competent Assessment / Development Center Facilitators (Please visit this page for a brief introduction to the assessment and development centres and different roles therein).

After completing this course, the participant is supposed to demonstrate the following:

  1. All the level-1 knowledge, skills and competence.
  2. In depth understanding of  different tools and techniques used in the assessment/development centres along with their strengths and limitations.
  3. Skills in creating simple exercises, role-plays and other assessment and development centre tools or adapting an existing tool to match with specific situation.
  4. Skills and competence in matching the tools with the competencies and creating their scoring rubrics.
  5. Deep understanding of ethical and professional standards in using assessment / development center as part of HR functions.
  6. Skills and competence in training the observers/role players to achieve better inter-rater reliability in assessment centres.

Level 3

Level-3 certification aims at creating qualified and competent Assessment / Development Center Designers/Architects who can be also be the master trainers in assessment centres.

After completing this course, the participant is supposed to demonstrate the following:

  1. All the level-2 knowledge, skills and competence.
  2. In depth understanding of adult learning theories and their application in business.
  3. Competence in creating even complex exercises, role-plays, in-trays, simulations, case-studies etc. for assessment and development centre.
  4. Competence in batch-scheduling, observer/assessor placements and other administrative activities which have a bearing on assessment center results.
  5. Strong understanding of methods of evaluating the effect/quality of assessment/development centres and skills in using appropriate tools for such effectiveness evaluation.
  6. Skills and competence in training the facilitators to achieve highest possible level of reliability, validity and accuracy in assessment centres.
